Shock, Horror! TV Advertising Lies!

The Media Guardian UK reports:
The television watchdog is investigating an advert for computer giant Intel showing mountaineers on Everest accessing the internet via a wireless laptop after almost 100 viewers complained it was misleading. The advert shows a climber watching heart-warming footage of loved ones on his Centrino computer. The viewers complained wireless internet connection is sometimes tricky in the UK, let alone halfway towards the world's highest peak.
Okay, while I take the point that wireless access can be painful at times, who really thinks TV ads are true? I mean, the Tooheys' Extra Dry advertisement has a bloke's tongue leaving his mouth in search of beer and returning carrying one from a party in another house. Do you think that's real? Hmmm?

Dr Who: 40th Anniversary

That's right, the Doctor is 40 years young. Fans across the world celebrated in various ways. The BBC World News has a pretty good article here, and also lets you vote for your favourite actor to play the Doctor. When I voted, Tom Baker was sitting at 54% with no close rivals. I have to confess, though, I prefer Sylvestor McCoy. Who did you like the most?
