iTunes Amplifies Podcasting!

Friday, July 01, 2005
Apparently over 1 million podcast subscriptions have been made through the newly released iTunes 4.9. That's a lot! I suspect podcasters using their own servers may suddenly find themselves paying for a lot more bandwidth! And podcasting may just have become a media mainstream term. Of course, that won't necessarily improve the quality as more and more people move into podcasting. I like this quote from PodCastingNews:
"Podcasting is like cappuccino," said August Trometer, developer of iPodderX. “"Gourmet coffee was around for a long time, but it took Starbucks to put it on the map. Apple is like the Starbucks of Podcasting and advertisers will take us more seriously now."
That said, I do enjoy a Starbucks coffee when I can ... ;)
