ImageTeXT: An Online Journal of Interdisciplinary Comics Studies

I had no idea that ImageTeXT existed, but I received a Call For Papers today which pointed toward the first academic journal dedicated to comic books. Checking out their first issue (the only one so far) they seem to have covered Spiegelman and the more overtly poltiical cartoons and comics, but the CFP seems to suggest more mainstream and exciting stuff is on the way, too. About time someone put this together. Kudos to you, ImageTeXT editors!

PS I just read the first four pages of Joss Whedon's new Astonishing X-Men (as writer) and the way he has re-imagined grown up Kitty Pryde almost had me back buying comic books!
