Two days to go until Hollywood's Night of Nights and I'm realising I've seen fewer Oscar nominated films this year than at any point in the past five, I think. *sigh* Oh well, at least I'll be able to enjoy getting out DVDs when they're released. I still stand by my wishlist of Awards, but fear Finding Neverland and Johnny Depp will leave empty handed if the hype around Jamie Foxx and Aviator are any measure.

For some interesting reading, Gil Cates, the producer of this year's Oscars, has his own blog here: The Producer's Blog. It's a really fascinating account of all the background to OscarNight and I wonder how many times Cates mentions other people's "concerns about what Chris Rock might say"! [Via EnSight]

Also, for animation fans, all five of the animated shorts nominated this year are available (legally) to watch online via the Animation World Network. [Via BoingBoing]
