[X] Al Pacino, Joseph Fiennes and Jeremy Irons in an adaptation of The Merchant of Venice: sounds amazing (and gets a royal launch next week; the trailer looks gorgeous, too!).

[X] The first Sims 2 expansion pack is already on the way! Gamespot notes that Sims 2 University is due March 2005. EA tantalises with this snipit:
An important aspect of any expansion pack is that we deliver enough content to let the user create his or her own fantasies. If players want Animal House but weirder, they'll be able to do it in The Sims 2 University...
Is anyone seriously going to try and say this isn't all about those wacky coed college partys US films love to make into "teen flicks" (or should that be skin flicks)?

[X] Last week (yes, I'm a bit behind) New Scientist published a really interesting article on the large and expanding Chinese blogosphere, looking at the government's attempts to control Chinese bloggers, the banning of blogspot, the emerging Chinese-specific blog alternatives and the power of dissendent blogging voices behind the Great Firewall of China.

[X] And if you've always wanted to make a Torrent file for distributing a file but lacked the (often complicated) knowledge necessary to create a seed file, now you can using BlogTorrent, a vastly simplified torrent creation/uploading tool.
